McCoy Pies — a specialty range made exclusively for SPAR.
Food is never easy to film, especially when the brief calls for pastries to float and swirl in front of the camera.
The client wanted to showcase the pies’ unique shape, size, filling, and craftsmanship — and to make every shot look as irresistible as they taste.

To achieve the smooth camera movements and extreme close-ups we decided to create the entire commercial in 3D.

With CG assets and environment, we had the flexibility to iterate with modelling, texturing, animation, and lighting.
Smart masks, with varying degrees of baked pastry materials were exported from Substance.
This allowed us to easily change the look of the pie and provided even more iterative power for the client.
